LYNDON TOWNSHIP
NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
Assessor Field Inspections – October 2026 through January 2027
The Lyndon Township Assessing Department would like to inform residents that assessing personnel will be conducting field inspections throughout the township beginning now and continuing through January 2027.
Under Michigan law, assessors are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date property assessment records. Periodic field inspections are an important part of this process and help ensure that properties are assessed fairly and equitably.
During this time, assessing personnel will be:
  • Inspecting properties where building permits have been issued through the Chelsea Area Construction Authority.
  • Updating property records as necessary to reflect changes or improvements.
What Residents Should Know
Assessing personnel may be seen throughout the township taking exterior measurements, verifying property characteristics, and photographing improvements for assessment purposes.
Field staff will have identification available, and vehicle identification magnets will help residents recognize assessing personnel.
We understand that residents may have questions or concerns when someone is on their property. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to maintain accurate and equitable property assessments throughout Lyndon Township.
