LYNDON TOWNSHIP
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN
NOTICE OF ADOPTION 

Notice is hereby given that the Township Board for Lyndon Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan adopted amendments to Chapter 3, Sections 3.04; at a regular meeting held on November 10, 2020. Summaries of the amendments are below.

 Chapter 3 General Provisions

Section 3.04 Street Access has been amendment as follows:

  1. A.      In any district, every use, building or structure shall be upon a lot or parcel of land adjoining a public street or private road, or have access to a public street or private road by means of an exclusive access easement or shared residential driveway.
  2. B.      Private roads shall be established, constructed, and maintained as approved by the Lyndon Township Board under the terms and provisions of the Lyndon Township Private Road Ordinance.
  3. C.       Exclusive access easements and shared residential driveways must meet all applicable standards of the Township’s Private Roads Ordinance including Section IX. Exclusive Access Easement for One Single Family Residence and Section X. Shared Residential Driveways.

 A copy of the full text of the new Zoning Ordinance may be inspected or purchased at the Township Offices (17751 N. Territorial Road, Chelsea, MI 48118). The new Zoning Ordinance Amendments will also be posted on the Township’s website at https://lyndontownshipmi.gov/news/ . 

The adopted amendment shall become effective 7 days after the notice is published unless referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402 within seven (7) days after publication of this notice of the adoption. If referendum procedures are initiated, the ordinance shall take effect in accordance with MCL 125.3402.
