The Township of Lyndon will hold the 2022 July Board of Review on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 at 10: 30 a.m., to correct Principle Residence Affidavits, mutual mistake of fact, clerical errors, poverty exemptions, and Veteran Exemptions at the Lyndon Township Offices, 17751 N Territorial Rd; Chelsea MI 48118

 

Tuesday following the third Monday in July: Special meeting of the July Board of Review may be convened by the assessing officer to correct a mutual mistake of fact or clerical error.  (211.536b)

An owner of property that is a “homestead” or is “qualified agricultural” property on May 1 may appeal to the July board of review for the current year and the immediately succeeding 3 years if the exemption was not on the tax roll.  211.78cc (13) and 211.7ee (6).

PA 74 of 1995 authorizes July (and December) Board(s) of Review to hear appeals for poverty exemptions, but not for poverty exemptions denied by the March Board of Review.  Applies to current year only (211.7u) (STC bulletin NO 15/1995.)  Also Veteran Exemptons.
